Arthur James Green February 20, 1935 - August 12, 2008 Arthur James Green, 73, of Hackberry Drive died at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mr. Green retired in 2000 from King Industries Corp. of Seymour where he worked 35 years. He also was a cabinet maker. A former paratrooper with the U.S. Army at Fort Bragg, Mr. Green was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus, past president of Breakfast Optimist Club and a past member of the Elks Lodge. Born in Mitchell Feb. 20, 1935, Mr. Green was the son of Louis and Theresa Davis Green. Survivors include his wife, Doris A. Green; a son, Garris Michael (Stephanie) Green of Virginia; a daughter, Lela Nyleda Steele of Columbus; a stepson, Dan Noble of Lawrenceville, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Dana (Jim) Sweeten of Vincennes; grandchildren, Zachary James Steele, Samuel Luther Dent, Daniel Brian Dolan Noble, Victoria Adelyn Steele, Christina Elizabeth Steele, Leah Allison Whittington, Haley Elizabeth Sweeten and Chasity Nicole Noble; great-grandchildren, Emma Grace Whittington and Colton Lee James Whittington; a brother, Vernon (Dymple) Green of Mitchell; and a sister, Pauline Taylor of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Olga Adelyn Green; a brother, Everett Green; and sisters, Margaret Maass and Mildred Cummings.
