Ruth E. Weihe October 24, 1909 - June 04, 2008 Ruth E. Nay Weihe, 98, of North Cherry Street died at 1:28 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mrs. Weihe was born in Jefferson County and lived her early life near Canaan, Ind. She graduated from North Madison High School and prior to her marriage was employed by H.L. Rost Jewelers and Singer Sewing Co. as a bookkeeper and salesperson. She was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church and enjoyed being a homemaker and caring for her garden and flowers. Born Oct. 24, 1909, Mrs. Weihe was the daughter of O. Carl and Lyda Cotton Nay. She married C.L. Henry Heinie Weihe Sept. 17, 1951. Survivors include a brother, Don C. Nay of Edinburgh; nieces, JoAnne (Dennis) Anness of Columbus and Angie (Morris) Piper of Columbus; a stepniece, Dr. Sally Brown of Amherst, Va.; several cousins, including Maurice (Jewell) Housefield of Columbus; and caregivers, Norma Henderson, Chena Crider, Mildred Burnside, Lorene Martin and Araina Vandiver. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1983; and sisters, Genevieve Nay and Lucille Nay Mancuso. Funeral Information VISITATION: Friday, June 6, 2008 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Jewell - Rittman Family Funeral Home and also Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. FUNERAL: Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Jewell - Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Teike officiating.
