Agatha "Peggy" Marie Vogel October 27, 1922 - April 09, 2008 Agatha Marie Vogel Columbus Agatha Peggy Marie Vogel, 85, returned peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 9, 2008, at 2:05 a.m. She was an early resident of Shelby County and Hope and a longtime resident of Columbus. Peggy was a current resident of Silver Oaks Retirement Facility where she loved to call her earthly home. Peggy was born on October 27, 1922, in Bengal, Indiana, to Albert J. and Tyocia Tucker Ziegler. She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Robertson, and son-in-law, Gary Robertson, both of Columbus; stepdaughter, Barbara Nunemaker of Columbus; three grandchildren, Brad A. Robertson of Greenwood, Randy J. Robertson of Indianapolis and Cory L. Robertson of Broad Ripple; eight stepgrandchildren, Toni Nunemaker of Michigan, Jan Nunemaker of Michigan, Kim Kitterman of Earl Park, Illinois, Lynn Nunemaker of Seymour, Kurt Nunemaker of Columbus, Eric Vogel of Ohio, Mark Calvin of Wisconsin and Theresa Calvin of Wisconsin; six great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and the loving staff at Silver Oaks. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Herman Bozell, and second husband, W. Paul Vogel; brothers, Clarence J. Ziegler, Carl E. Ziegler, Georgie I. Ziegler, Charles D. Ziegler, Ernest E. Ziegler and Richard R. Ziegler; a stepson, Don Vogel; a granddaughter, Candi Rene Robertson; a stepdaughter-in-law, Joyce Calvin; and a very dear friend Homer Boles. Peggy was proud to be employed by and retired from Cummins Engine Company after 28 years. She was also a former employee in the Columbus dental office of Dr. W.B. Rice DDS. Peggy was an avid fan of Indiana basketball, Cincinnati Reds baseball, NASCAR and any sport her grandchildren or great-grandchildren participated in. She also enjoyed her rose and vegetable garden, travel, helping others, horse racing, collecting antiques, playing euchre and fishing. Peggy was 1993 Business Woman of the Year, a proud donor and volunteer at Red Cross blood drives, a board member of CREAK Club, where she worked on the food committee, and Tipton Knoll Business & Professional Womens Association. She also was a member of 55 fellowship through First Christian Church where she was a member for years. Funeral Information VISITATION: Will be Friday, April 11, 2008, from 4 until 8 p.m. at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of service at Asbury United Methodist Church. SERVICES: A celebration of her life will be conducted at Asbury United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 12, 2008, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Al Styron. Musical selections will be provided by Ed Bruenjes from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service. BURIAL: Service will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus. Donations Information Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana or the American Heart Association.
