Helen D. Thompson June 08, 1915 - February 23, 2008 Helen D. Thompson, 92, of Taylor Road, Columbus, Ind., died Saturday, February 23, 2008, at 6:15 a.m. at Four Seasons Healthcare Center. Helen enjoyed making quilts by hand, as well as gardening, sharing her produce with her friends and neighbors. She retired from Arvin after 30 years of service. Helen attended the East Columbus United Methodist Church. Mrs. Thompson was born June 8, 1915, in Jennings County, Indiana, the daughter of Lon and Floney Harrell Hern. She married Orvie Raymond Thompson. He preceded her in death on August 23, 1980. Survivors include a nephew, Thomas J. (Rhonda) Hern of Columbus, Ind.; nieces, Jane (John) Hern Naf of Ocala, Fla. and Deborah H. (David) Sharp of Columbus, Ind.; a cousin, Rheadawn (Harry Lee) Thomas of Indiana; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Harrell Hern, Herbert Hern who passed away as a child, Carl Hern and Robert W. Hern. Funeral Information FUNERAL: Wednesday, February 27, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Agnew officiating.
