Mary M. Whitaker November 11, 1923 - October 17, 2007 Mary M. Whitaker, 83, died at 4 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. She had resided with her daughter and son-in-law on Lockerbie Drive the past two years. Mrs. Whitaker was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Richmond and Bartholomew County Senior Center. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, animals, walks, music and spending time with family and friends. Born in Winchester Nov. 11, 1923, Mrs. Whitaker was the daughter of Matthew and Evelyn Baker. She married Charles Whitaker Jr. on October 24, 1942. Survivors include a daughter, Debbie S. (Mike) Hert of Columbus; grandchildren, Kimberly (Jack) Stewart of Corona, Calif., and David (Jenny) Hert of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Lain, Logan, Skylar and Sylvia; and a sister, Lucille Jeffries of Richmond. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in February 1982; and brothers, Warren and Bailey Baker.
