Ermil Ray Hamilton July 20, 1936 - June 20, 2007 Ermil Ray Hamilton Jr., 70, of Elizabethtown died at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at his home. Mr. Hamilton graduated from Mitchell High School in 1956 and moved to Columbus in 1959. He was employed by Taystee Bread and Frito Lay for several years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of First Christian Church in Mitchell, attended First Christian Church of Columbus and enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping and farming. Born in Campbellsburg July 20, 1936, Mr. Hamilton was the son of Ermil Ray and Bessie O. Lawyer Hamilton. He is survived by sons, Anthony W. (Rhonda) Hamilton of North Vernon and Mark D. Hamilton of Jonesville; a daughter, Nancy (Gregg) Daugherty of Columbus; grandchildren, Basile and Patrick Hamilton and Gage, Brennen and Gus Daugherty; sisters, Lois Hamilton of Columbus, Virginia M. Ramey of Mitchell and Ruby Gause of Indianapolis; his companion of 18 years, Naomi J. Collyer; her children, Cheryl Placek and Charles Collyer, both of Columbus, and John Collyer of Rushville; and her three granddaughters, four great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ermil Ray and Bessie O. Hamilton; a grandson, Jacob Ray Daugherty; brothers, Roger David and Walter Eugene Hamilton; and two infant sisters. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Hogg officiating. VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Friday; June 22, 2007 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery.
