David James Stambaugh August 28, 1924 - May 01, 2007 David James Stambaugh, 82, of Columbus died at 3:25 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mr. Stambaugh was a graduate of Columbus High School and Purdue University, with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was a retired Arvin Industries engineer as well as owner of Stambaugh Consulting, representing Rexnord Link Belt. He was a Purdue Engineering Alumni member, a Beta Theta Pi Fraternity Alumni member, an engineering member of ISPE, SME, SAE and ASHRAE, and a member of BARC, DSI and Underwriters Laboratories Industry Committee. He was past president of both the ISPE and BARC and served on the board of directors of BARC and DSI. He held engineering patents for an ironing table mechanism, a thermoelectric refrigerator and a heat exchanger module assembly. He also was a member of First Christian Church and served in the Army during World War II. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, Aug. 28, 1924, Mr. Stambaugh was the son of Paul H. and Adel R. McCasline Stambaugh. He married Dorothy Ann Granger June 2, 1984. Survivors include his wife; a son, David C. (Marianne) Stambaugh of Tulsa, Okla.; daughters, Rebecca A. (John) Krajewski of Vandalia, Mo., Debra M. Stambaugh of Columbus and Kimberly D. (Christopher) Van Selow of Fishers; grandchildren, Jonathon, Katherine and Hillary Stambaugh and Amanda, Tommy Lee and Kay Lynn Krajewski; a brother, Robert (Roberta) Stambaugh of Hanover, N.H.; a sister, Jean Prather of Columbus; a sister-in-law, Peg Stambaugh of Columbus; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald Stambaugh. Funeral Information VISITATION: Friday; May 4, 2007 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Jewell - Rittman Family Funeral Home and also one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday. FUNERAL: Saturday; May 5, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Jewell - Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Pursley officiating. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery with a military graveside service performed by the Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.
