Fred Skinner September 10, 1939 - March 22, 2007 Fred Skinner Jr., 67, of Virginia Street, Columbus, Ind., died at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2007, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Ind. Fred served four years in the U.S. Navy as a Dental Tech. Fred retired from Dolly Madison Bakery after several years in the manufacturing industry. He loved sports and loved spending time with his friends and family. Mr. Skinner was born Sept. 10, 1939 in Ohio, the son of Fred and Gaynelle Skinner. He married Kay Peters. Survivors include his wife, Kay Peters Skinner of Columbus, Ind.; a son, Tim (Jeri) Skinner of Columbus, Ind.; daughters, Angie (Dan) Summers of Columbus, Ind. and Lisa (Andrew) Barksdale of Oakdale, Minn.; grandchildren, Courtney Fish, Emma and Olivia Barksdale and Megan and Chris Hembree; brothers, Daryl and Danny Skinner, both of Dayton, Ohio; and sisters, Darlene Schafer, Bobby McDonald and Myrna Sturgill, all of Dayton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Linda Fischer. Funeral Information FUNERAL: Will be Monday, March 26, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Randall Burton officiating. CALLING: Will be Sunday March 25, 2007 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. A military graveside service will be conducted by the Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard. Donations Information Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
