Helen M. Williams November 08, 1915 - December 14, 2006 Helen M. Minor Roe Williams, 91, of Parkside Court died at 11:59 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mrs. Williams was a lifelong resident of Columbus and graduated from Columbus High School in 1934. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority, Bartholomew County Senior Center, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Senior Scribes. She was an accomplished artist and excelled at writing poetry and articles for Past 50 magazine and Parkside Courts monthly newsletter. She also did volunteer work at her church, creating homemade cards and sending them to shut-ins. Born in Burney Nov. 8, 1915, Mrs. Williams was the daughter of Floyd and Hazel Gohn Minor. She married William Arnold Roe Oct. 12, 1940. He died Nov. 22, 1970. She married Sherman Skaggs Oct. 18, 1975. He preceded her in death in November 2001. She married Lewis J. Williams Dec. 4, 2004. He survives. Other survivors include a son, Bill (Becky) Roe of Greenwood; a daughter, Nancy J. (Carl) Urbahns of Columbus; a grandchild, Crystal Roe; great-grandchildren, Jessica Shane and Wyatt, Killian and Bradley Zane Urbahns; brothers, Raymond (Barbara) Minor and Norman (Norma) Minor, both of Columbus, and Donald (Beulah) Minor of Venice, Fla.; four stepdaughters; one stepson; 12 stepgrandchildren; 21 stepgreat-grandchildren; and five half brothers and half sisters in the Madison area. Also preceding her in death are grandchildren, Bradley and Brian Urbahns; brothers, Leslie Noble, Lowell Eugene and Paul Robert Minor; and sisters, Vivian Morris and Patricia and Barbara Minor. Funeral Information FUNERAL: Will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday December 18, 2006 at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Jim Kuchera officiating. VISITATION: Will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday December 17, 2006 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and from 1 p.m. until service time Monday at the church. Entombment will be at Garland Brook Cemetery Mausoleum. Donations Information Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.
