Linda C. Artis February 04, 1946 - October 31, 2006 Linda Carol Artis, 60, of 13th Street died unexpectedly at 11:16 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Miss Artis was a dedicated and loved first-grade teacher at Clifty Creek Elementary School. She was a member of Columbus Educators Association, Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority and First United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling with her many friends. She graduated with a bachelor of science degree from Indiana State University and earned a master of science degree at Indiana University. Born in Bartholomew County Feb. 4, 1946, Miss Artis was the daughter of Lance E. and Fern Artis. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, John Romine and Fern Artis Romine of Columbus; brothers, Lloyd (Judy) Artis of Elizabethtown, Richard L. (Jeanne) Artis of Elizabethtown and Randal (Brenda) Artis of Columbus; a sister, Amy Artis of Mount Vernon; stepsisters, Janice Tempest of Columbus and Sharon (James) West of Shelby County; a stepbrother, Terry (Judy) Romine of Elizabethtown; and three nieces, three nephews and 12 great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and a nephew, Darryl Wayne Artis. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2006 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Campbell officiating. VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday. BURIAL: Springer Cemetery.
