Ruth "Sweetheart" F. Fields November 20, 1941 - September 18, 2006 Ruth F. Sweetheart Fields, 64, of Boone Drive went to be with her Lord and Savior at 6:23 a.m. Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mrs. Fields was a member of Lowell General Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to church, crocheting and shopping. Born in Columbus Nov. 20, 1941, Mrs. Fields was the daughter of Odis Lee and Alice Dixon Williams. She married Lonnie L. Fields Nov. 21, 1959. He preceded her in death Dec. 10, 2003. Survivors include a son, Steve (Lora) Fields of Columbus; daughters, Teresa Fields, Juanita (Jack) Abernathy and Donita Hoffman, all of Columbus; stepsons, Franklin, William and Paul Fields, all of Glasgow, Ky.; a stepdaughter, Becky (Doug) Poindexter of Glasgow; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2006 at Lowell General Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Poynter officiating. VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and from 12:30 p.m. until service time Friday. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery.
