Martin T. "Marty" Porter August 15, 1960 - September 17, 2006 Martin Toby Porter, 46, of North Brooks Street died at 8:08 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006, at his home. Mr. Porter was a carpenter and a veteran of the Marine Corps. He enjoyed demolition derbies, camping, mud-bogging and building a car for his wife to use. Born in Evansville Aug. 15, 1960, Mr. Porter was the son of Ronald H. Porter and Lois Mae Singleton. He married B. Diane Dean Nov. 3, 2001. Survivors include his wife; his mother, of Mount Vernon, Ill.; sons, Cody and Zach Porter; a daughter, Tabitha Porter; stepdaughters, Traci Shrum, Lisa Kelsay and Kim Thomas, all of Columbus; a brother, Andy Porter; sisters, Sara and Lisa Porter; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Melinda Beth Porter. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Lewis Burton officiating. VISITATION: 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday. BURIAL: Oak Grove Cemetery in Jennings County. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard. Martin Toby Porter, 46, of North Brooks Street died at 8:08 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006, at his home.
Mr. Porter was a carpenter and a veteran of the Marine Corps. He enjoyed demolition derbies, camping, mud-bogging and building a car for his wife to use.
