Marvin Dale Sweeney April 23, 1933 - May 06, 2006 Marvin Dale Sweeney, 73, of Columbus, died at 9:55 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2006, at his daughters residence. Marvin retired from his own construction business. He loved fishing, camping, boating and tending to his garden. Mr. Sweeney was born April 23, 1933 in Austin, the son of George Arthur and Myrtle Bernice Mitchell Sweeney. He married Peggy Wooten in January 1956. Survivors include his wife; a son, Kenneth M. Sweeney of Columbus; daughters, Gwinna (Greg) Lanning of Columbus and Lanna D. Bush of Greensburg; grandchildren, Jeremy Goodin, Jimmy (Jennifer) Goodin, Anthony (Amanda) Bush, Nicholas Bush, Nathan Bush and Isaac Lanning; greatgrandchildren, Kameron and Kimber Goodin, Dylan and Dakota Goodin and Bradley Bush; and sisters, Marilyn (Ed) Maxwell and Carolyn Sue (Ernest) Geralds, both of Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, James Wayne Sweeney. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at JewellRittman Family Funeral Home on 25th Street, with the Rev. Brian Lanning officiating. VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 1 p.m. to service time Tuesday. BURIAL: Flatrock Baptist Cemetery. Donations Information MEMORIALS: Hospice of South Central Indiana.
