Harold E. "Gene" Stoughton November 05, 1933 - April 27, 2006 Harold E. Gene Stoughton, 72, of West Robbie Street died at 2:11 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2006, at his home. Mr. Stoughton lived most of his life in Columbus and attended Columbus High School. He operated a service station on Second Street before working with Doyle Todd Buick and also managed the Wilson Olds body shop. He had been service manager at Three Guys Inc. and retired in 1996 from Northern Paint Store. For the past 10 years, he did custom woodworking. He was a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast and raced for many years, enjoyed NASCAR, model airplanes and trains, guns and golfing. Born in Johnson County Nov. 5, 1933, Mr. Stoughton was the son of Raymond L. and M. Ruth Reed Stoughton. He married Ilene M. Romine Feb. 14, 1953. Survivors include his wife; a son, Tony Dean Stoughton of Columbus; a daughter, Gina Gayle (Mike) Allen of Hope; grandchildren, Cody R. and Amy M. Stoughton, both of Columbus, and Travis L. and Lyle W. Castetter, both of Hope; and a great-grandchild, Trynten W. Stoughton of Columbus. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia A. Meek. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2006 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Bridgewater officiating.
