Anna "Thelma" Thurnall October 30, 1920 - March 26, 2006 Anna Thelma Thurnall, 85, of Columbus died Sunday, March 26, 2006, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. She peacefully went to sleep and crossed over to Heaven to be with her Lord. Mrs. Thurnall was a homemaker and a charter member of the Rocky Ford Free Methodist Church. She was a former nurses aide and loved to bake pies and can fruits and vegetables. Her smile was infectious and could brighten a room as she entered. She loved southern gospel music and all of the family pets. Mrs. Thurnall was born Oct. 30, 1920, in Kentucky, the daughter of James and Lenna Harlow. She married Edgar Scudder and together they raised a daughter, Billie Ann, on their farm in Fairview, Ind., until the death of Edgar. She then relocated to Columbus and worked at Sandcrest Medical. She spent a lot of time with her daughter, son-in-law Dave and three grandchildren. She then met and married Harold Thurnall and moved to Madison, Ind. She worked at Kings Daughters Hospital as a nurses aide until her retirement. She and her husband, Harold, enjoyed county fairs and festivals, state parks and weekend drives with their pet terrier, Cricket. Survivors include her daughter, Billie Ann Goodner, and her husband David, of Columbus; her three grandchildren, Mark Goodner, and his partner Michael G. Moore, of Bloomington, Merrilee Reed and her husband John, of Jeffersonville, and Mike Goodner, and his wife Lisa, of Columbus; her two great-grandchildren, Cameron Wayne of Jeffersonville and Joshua David of Columbus; two sisters, Edith (Howard) Dugle of Rising Sun and Gladys (Burnie) Hunt of Florence; and two brothers, Marion Bud Harlow of Cynthiana, Ky., and Jerry (Ruth) Harlow of Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charles; a sister, Norma; and her husband, Edgar and Harold. Thelma was blessed with many wonderful friends with whom she loved to spend time. She was greatly loved and will be sorely missed by all. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at Jewell-Rittman Funeral Home in Columbus, with Pastor Brian Buterbaugh officiating. VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday. BURIAL: Dupont Cemetery in Dupont, Ind.
