Betty J. Rawlins June 12, 1930 - February 17, 2006 Betty J. Rawlins, 75, of West Harvard Court, died at 7:30 a.m. Friday, February 17, 2006 at Columbus Regional Hospital. Prior to becoming a homemaker, Betty was employed by Arvin and enjoyed several years in retail sales. She was involved in the Boy Scouts of America and served as treasurer of New Zion Methodist Church before joining Asbury United Methodist Church. Betty was blessed with a 55-year marriage to her beloved husband, Charles. She enjoyed bowling, ballroom dancing, gardening, traveling, and a good game of bridge with friends. Betty dedicated her life to caring for her family and friends. Her five grandchiidren and dog, Ginger, were her recent greatest joys. Mrs. Rawlins was born June 12, 1930 in Knightsville, the daughter of Joseph N. and Mary B. Morgan James. She married Charles D. Rawlins on Aug. 12, 1950. Survivors include children, David Edward Rawlins, Jo Ellen (Alan) Watanabe, Jean Anne (Mark) Thayer and John Aaron (Sabrina) Rawlins, all of Columbus; and grandchildren, Brooke and Laura Anne Watanabe, Mark Charles Thayer and Erin and Charlize Rawlins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Mary Albright Funeral Information FUNERAL: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at Asbury United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joe Kamman officiating. VISITATION: 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at JewellRittman Family Funeral Home and from 9:00 a.m. to time of service Tuesday at the church. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery.
