Thomas P. Smith April 19, 1933 - February 17, 2006 Thomas Paul Smith, 72, of California Street died at 2 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, at Millers Merry Manor. Mr. Smith was an Army veteran and, after returning from the Korean War, attended Maryland Art Institute where he became an accomplished artist and received a graduate degree in sculpture. He retired from Cummins Engine Co. where he was a forklift operator. After retiring he donated his property for the home of Youth Hope of Columbus. He was a formidable chess player and excellent fisherman. Born in Stillwater, Okla., April 19, 1933, Mr. Smith was the son of Jewell Agee and Agnes Smith. He is survived by nieces, Paula Renee Hilpertshauser of Atlanta, Ga., and Cheryl Lee Vaughan of Fort Myers, Fla.; and cousins, Maryellen Smith-Boll of Seattle, Wash., and Jean Smith of Cleveland, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jewell Agee Smith. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2006 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Thomas Paul Smith, 72, of California Street died at 2 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, at Millers Merry Manor.
