Everett Clayburn July 06, 1930 - June 16, 2005 Everett Clayburn, 74, of Road 550S died at 1:25 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2005, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mr. Clayburn was born in Jamestown, Tenn., lived his early life in Raleigh/Durham, N.C., and moved to Franklin in 1951. He married Rosalee Bassett Aug. 16, 1952, at Shelbyville and moved to Columbus in 1953. He was employed at Cosco from 1952 until 1992, retiring after 40 years of service. He was Elizabethtown Marshal from 1965 to 1972 and ran for Bartholomew County Sheriff in 1972. He was a member of Hope Masonic Lodge No. 150 and was founder of the Clayburn Family Reunion held every Labor Day weekend at Pickett State Park in Jamestown, Tenn. He was a well known horse trader and enjoyed hunting and muzzle loading, fishing, camping, grilling and, most of all, spending time with his family. He was of the Baptist faith. Born July 6, 1930, Mr. Clayburn was the son of Ocie Everett and Vera Ellen Winningham Clayburn. He is survived by his wife; sons, Daniel (Crystal) Clayburn of Lexington, Ky., Jeff (Pam) Clayburn of Louisville, Ky., Brent (Michelle) Clayburn of Columbus and Kelley (Melissa) Clayburn of Elizabethtown; a daughter, Kathy (David) Jordan of Nashville; a brother, Bobby Clayburn of Leicester, N.C.; sisters, Adele Bischoff of Decatur, Tenn., and Alene Mezinas of Atlanta, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John Leonard, J.B. and Jimmy Lee Clayburn; and sisters, Pauline Rissinger, Irene Kocher, Margaret Tuttle, Juanita Cochran, Mattie Brumbley, Georgia Goodyear, Edith Peters, Mary Francis and Vera Fay Clayburn.
