Norval "Niff" Eckelman August 30, 1920 - June 04, 2005 Reeve's Pulley Retiree Norval F. "Niff" Eckelman, 84, of Road 625S. died at 8:34 A.M. Saturday, June 4, 2005 at Columbus Regional Hospital. Born in Bartholomew County August 30, 1920, Mr. Eckelman was the son of Elmer and Clara Kobbe Eckelman. He married Hulda Enzinger April 27, 1947. Norval lived his entire life in Bartholomew County. He was a farmer and retired from Reeve's Pulley after 31 years. He was a WWII Army veteran serving in the Phillipine Islands. Norval was a life long member of the St.John's Whitecreek Lutheran Church where he served in various church offices. He was also a member of the White Creek Conservation Club and enjoyed sports and his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Hulda; sons, Doyce L., Randy J. and Duane Eckelman, all of Columbus; a daughter, Rhonda Dunn of Columbus; and grandchildren, Nathan, Matthew, Travis, Lorna and Randall Eckelman, Heather Ping, Heidi Kleffman, Brandi Bliton, Tenille Bullock, Ashley Baxter and Brennan Rotert. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Deryl Eckelman;a brother, Herschel Eckelman and sisters, Edell Eckelman and Helen Walker.
