Alvin "Wayne" Bickell

Alvin "Wayne" Bickell, 63, of Columbus, died at 7:01 a.m. August 1, 2019, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Wayne was born November 26, 1955, in Claremore, Oklahoma, the son of J.P. Leroy and Maxine Turner Bickell. He married Beverly Blanford February 28, 1976.
He was a member of the Indiana and Oklahoma Army National Guard and a 20 year member of IBEW Local 481.
Calling will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2019, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with a private service to follow. Military honors will be provided by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
Survivors include his mother, Maxine Bickell of Claremore, Oklahoma; wife, Beverly; children, Aaron (Tonya) Bickell, Megan Johnson and Ryan (Lori) Camplin; a brother, Matt Bickell and sister, Marie (J.D.) Jackson; grandchildren, Shelby Brooks, Tucker Johnson, Steven (Amber) Axsom, Christa Townsend and Ian Axsom; and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, J.P. Leroy Bickell; and a brother, William Bickell; daughter-in-law, Shari Bickell.

I knew Wayne when he worked at the hospital in the maintenance department.Always so friendly and nice. What a surprise when he showed up at my granddaughter’s wedding as the grandfather of the groom.
