Mary L. Harris

Mary L. Harris, 82, of Hope, died at 11:43 a.m. October 16, 2019, at Miller's Merry Manor.
Mary was born May 24, 1937, in Indianapolis, the daughter of James and Anna Falk Stone. She married Jesse M. Harris Jr. in August of 1956; he preceded her in death November 11, 2000.
She loved the Lord and also loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at noon, Sunday, October 20, 2019, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Baldwin officiating. Calling will be 10 a.m. until time of service Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Hawcreek Baptist Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
Survivors include her son, Jesse “Butch” Harris of Greensburg and daughters, Mary (Bobby) Knight of Hartsville, Brenda Dolan of Hartsville, Debbie (Tom) Terry of Texas, Sandy (David) Tolen of North Vernon and Jeannie (Kevin) Welch of Greensburg; brothers, Larry (Sue) Stone of Hope, Charlie (Patty) Stone of Indianapolis, Harold (Patsy) Stone of Indianapolis, Frankie (Judy) Stone of Texas and Tom (Ilene) Stone of Indianapolis and sisters, Linda Jenkins of Tennessee and Dixie Bosley of Martinsville; grandchildren, Jenni, Amy, Michael, Tyler, Larissa, Jamie, Joey, Jeremy, Braiden, John, Tommy, Jolinda, Tina, Jason, Sarah, Melanie, Tamara and Jesse; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Stone and mother, Anna Edwards; husband, Jesse; and brothers, George Stone and Jim Stone.

In 1995 wife and I moved to Hartsville and had Mary as next door neighbor and a pleasurable neighbor to have. We had good relations as a neighbor and friends. Sorry that I could not attend the calling for Mary. I was pleasured to attend the birthday gathering at the Firehouse and visit with Mary.
