Elsie Fay Simpson

Elsie Fay (Eden) Simpson, 80, of Columbus IN, died at 8:15 p.m., October 25, 2019, at hospice. Elsie was born September 19, 1939 in Clay City, KY, the daughter of Samuel and Goldie (Banks) Eden. She married Charles L. Simpson September 14, 1958. Elsie retired from Cummins Engine Company after a 30-year career. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, puzzles, spending time outdoors. A memorial service will be held at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home, Sunday, October 27, 2019 at 3:00p.m. with Rev Chuck Kennedy officiating. Calling will be Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to donor’s choice of charities. Survivors include son: Charles Bryant (Wendy Marie) Simpson, daughter: Glenda Aikins, brother Ron (Royanna) Daughtery, sisters: Thelma Dodson, Sue (Butch) McNicholas, grandchildren: Andrea Wallace, Traci (Chris) Harris, Heather Vanders, Lindsey Stathan, Charles Michael Simpson, Christopher Bryant Simpson, 12 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Plus, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Chester Samuel Eden, James Eden, Howard (Joann) Eden, Ralph (Blackie) Eden and sisters: June Olson and Iva (John) Jones.
