Ethan Matthew Nielsen, 18, of Hope, Indiana, died January 14, 2020, due to injuries sustained from an accident. Ethan was born October 3, 2001, in Columbus, the son of Brandon A. Nielsen and Bridget Kincaid. He enjoyed working on cars and loved animals. The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, January 19, 2020, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor John Marquis officiating. Calling will be from noon until time of service Sunday. Memorials may be made to the Bartholomew County Humane Society in honor of Ethan. Survivors include his father, Brandon A. (Angela G.) Nielsen of Columbus and mother, Bridget L. Kincaid of Seymour; grandparents, Lisa Johnson of Hope and Vicki Cole of Seymour and great-grandparents, Shelby Adams of Seymour and Lawrence Nielsen of Hope; brothers, Layton M. Dowden of Columbus, Daniel B. Kincaid of Seymour and Kameron Nielsen of Columbus and a sister, Calliana K. Nielsen of Columbus; stepbrother, Braden M. Cherry of Columbus and stepsister, Lillian G. Lacey of Columbus; a niece, Mayla Kincaid; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Lorene Nielsen and Jack Adams; and an aunt, Brandy Richardson.

  6. I’m so very sorry you and your family are hurting. My son told me Ethan was so so kind to him when my son transferred to East mid-year in 2018. Even though we do not know each other I have not stopped thinking about you. I’m so sorry you are going through this. Your son was kind to everyone…that is what I keep hearing from so many…he was good to all.
