Deborah D. DeJarnette

Deborah D. DeJarnette, 70, of Columbus, passed away from this life Saturday, March 7, 2020, with her family by her side.
Deborah was born April 27, 1949 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of Dorothy Vance and Elmer Whisler. On June 7, 1975, Deborah married John T. DeJarnette; he survives.
Deborah was a 1967 graduate of Southport High School. Deborah had a 33-year-long career as a secretary at the Diesel Workers Union (D.W.U) where she retired.
Deborah is survived by her husband of 45 years, John; her stepmother, Kathi Whisler of Indianapolis; her two brothers, Jeff Whisler of Dallas, TX and Bryan (Renee)Whisler of Indianapolis; her daughter, Chanel (Dave) Gross of Columbus, her son Glenn (Jenny) DeJarnette of Columbus, her daughter Susan Schwartz of Owensboro, KY, and her son Johnny (Davida) DeJarnette of Owensboro, KY; her grandchildren, Derek Gross, Caitlyn (Dane) Duke, Emmy DeJarnette, Kate DeJarnette, Sydney (Scott) Thompson, Haydon Humphreys, Brooke Schwartz, Thomas DeJarnette and Hutson DeJarnette; great grandchildren, Kinsley Jo Thompson and Tristan Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 12 at 10:30 a.m. with a calling beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Felipe Martinez officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery following the service.
