Norval H. Fischvogt

Norval H. Fischvogt, 99, of Columbus, died 4 p.m. April 23, 2020, at Four Seasons Retirement Community.
Norval was born June 12, 1920, in Columbus, the son of Frank L. Fischvogt and Clara Strietelmeier Fischvogt. He first married Frances Jean Scheidt in November 1948. She passed in 1956. He wed Jewel Elaine Belk October 1957; she preceded him in death December 25, 2019.
He graduated from Columbus High School and Elgin. He was a WWII veteran serving in the Army Air Corps. Norval was a watch-maker by trade and previously owned Fischvogt Jewelry in Columbus and antique, gift shops and art galleries in Nashville. Norval was a life-long member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
He enjoyed many activities including gardening, hiking, fishing, golf, and painting with oil, acrylic and water color.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2021 at Four Seasons Retirement Center Chapel with Pastor Mark Teike and Pastor Karen Hargett officiating. Calling will be from 9 a.m. until service time. Inurnment will follow the service at Garland Brook Cemetery with military honor’s provided by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
Memorials may be made to Together We Live (St. Peter's Lutheran Church) or Four Seasons chapel in memory of Norval.
Survivors include his sons, Kent (Debbie) Fischvogt, Columbus, IN and Jeffrey (Debbie) Fischvogt of La Jolla, CA; sister, Mary Ann Collins, Jensen Beach, FL; grandchildren, Scott (Angie) Fischvogt and Kirsten (Ian) Russell; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Emma Fischvogt, Kate and Luke Russell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Frances & Jewel; and brother, Howard Fischvogt and sister, Lorene Workinger.
