Raymond E. Chandler, 72, of Columbus, died at 9:45 a.m. May 4, 2020, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Raymond was born April 15, 1948, in Columbus, the son of Forrest E. and Katherine Tobias Chandler. He married Karen Sue Lucas November 4, 1968. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from the Golden Foundry. Raymond loved collecting cowboy hats, mushroom hunting, riding horses and auctions. A time of visitation will be held from 2 – 4 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2020, at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Karen; daughters, Sabrina (Dan) Tanner of Seymour and Arlinda Clair of Jonesville; sisters, Linda Beavers and Janice Wade, both of Columbus; grandchildren, Kristain Adams, Steven Tanner, Priscilla Tanner, Jessica Tanner and Brazen Clair; and great-grandchildren, Bladyn, Jaxson, Eli, Logan, Mia, Ruthie, Phoebe, Sophie and Anna. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Norma Gentry and Janet Chandler. With the new instructions issued by the State allowing gatherings of 25 people, we welcome friends to pay respects while continuing to follow social distancing guidelines. You may be asked to wait outside the building as we comply with this mandate. We encourage you to share your support with the family, being cognizant that others wish to do the same.
