Memories Timeline

Guestbook

    • So sorry to hear about Ralph. We grew up in the same neighborhood and Wanda Jo and I were good friends. Sympathy to his family on his loss. Reading his obituary brought back a lot of memories!

  1. We have known Ralph for a long time as we both went to high school with him. We want to extend our sympathy to his family, especially his sister, Wanda Jo, and sister-in-law, Barbara. Know that you, his family, are in our thoughts and prayers at this time.
    In Christian love,
    Mike and Annette Murphy

  2. Ralph was a great supporter of the SHS Alumni Association. I always looked forward
to see him at the annual banquets. He will be missed. My sympathies to the family..

  3. The vannoy family was a big part of Scott County all the children participated in school activities. I was more aquatinted with Justin as we were in the same class, Justin was a track star, he and Hurston was our school Warrior mascot and performed at each basketball game. Ralph and Wanda Jo were younger, the best as I remember Joe and Irene moved to Columbus after the children graduated Scottsburg high school, Justin and Ralph went into the military, Hurston went to work at Cummins, not sure what Wanda Jo did as she was fresh out of high school. Ralph contacted me in later years about his brother Justin health problems, I would send Justin hand printed cards so he could read in a nursing home, the war took a toll on Justin. Ralph also wanted to set up a scholarship fund for Scottsburg cheerleading graduates, my classmates had set up a scholarship fund and Ralph wanted info. how to proceed. Ralph succeeded setting up and funding his brothers, Justin/Hurston Scottsburg Cheerleading scholarship fund years ago and came to Scottsburg alumni banquet each year to present his scholarship money! This probably more than you need to know but Ralph and the Vannoy family was exceptional people and heaven is a better place with them in it. Note Hurston worked with me at Cummins and also passed a few years ago.
