Karen was always so welcoming during my visits there as a youth playing with her son. I have many fond memories and would like to share a couple.
As a young kid I had a sleepover. In the morning I woke up ready for breakfast and had the most amazing mini pancakes ever. She just kept batched if them for me. I couldn’t get enough which is really saying something for a picky eater. To this day I have never had better pancakes and will still think of those to this day when eating pancakes.
A second memory was playing board games with the family. One particular game I don’t know what it was called just that it was mental persuasion game. I was meeting everyone soundly. Then all of a sudden Karen just came roaring back putting me in place and winning the game. Karen was very intelligent methodically implementing her strategies during board games. I knew her well. As a teenager I saw Karen in several occasions playing her Family in scrabble. She had an extensive vocabulary and was a great speller and as mentioned earlier a great strategist. Needless to say she was a scrabble champion. As a teenager we tend to think we r Superman and can’t be beat at anything. Well I was smart enough to never player her at scrabble saving myself an inevitable humiliating defeat.
My last memory of Karen was when Merle and her attended my wedding after party. Both Merle and her were so nice. Karen with a huge smile on her face. Karen was always happy and in good spirits never more than when she was with her Husband, Merle
Those were just a few memories I had of many.
She was really a great person.
My deepest sympathies to the entire family.
Such a beautiful tribute video! Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Although I haven’t had a lot of time to spend with Karen, I loved her from the first time I met her. She was a kind, sweet Christian lady. Her love for God and family shined brightly. Love and prayers, Linda and John Turner
