Carl A. Roberts, 80, of Columbus, died at 7:20 a.m. June 17, 2020, at his home. Carl was born November 8, 1939, in Brown County, the son of Melvin and Doris White Roberts. He married Ella Louise McGuire July 27, 1974. Carl retired from Arvins after 28 years of service. The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2020, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor James Wood officiating. Calling will be 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service Monday. Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Ella; stepson, Rickie McCoy of Scipio; sister, Ethel (C.C.) Rook of Freetown; grandchildren, Danielle Meek of Florida, Jeremy McMillen of Washington and Kyle Ballard of Columbus; and a nephew, Josh Roberts and niece, Hope. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Evelyn James and Terry Lynn Ballard; and brothers, Donald, Robert and Dale, and sisters, Leona and Betty.   1. Carl and Dave Fish worked next to each other. One day our boss, Frank West was wondering why our line wasn’t running. It was because Carl and Dave were talking instead of working. Frank chewed them out something awful. That was funny to watch.

    • carl loved his wife very muchand gave me anything I ever wanted even to new cars we had very good life he loved me for the day we met at como plastiche never wanted to leave my side even when he was bad he wanted me to set in the big chair beside him every time I would get up he wanted to know what I doing and said come set back down he knew I was sick too and didn’t ask for muchI stuck by his sideand gave him my allI loved very much and he will alway be in my heart

  2. My grandpa and grandma was best friends with Carl and Louis. spent most of my young life with uncle Carl and Aunt Louis. Love them both . will always remember you carl thanks for giving me so many memories!
