Clairene B. Ackerman, age 72, of Columbus, passed away at 9:27 a.m. Wednesday July 22, 2020 in Columbus Regional Hospital. She was born in Mount Sterling, Kentucky on September 15, 1947 and has been a resident of this area for most of her life. She enjoyed reading her bible, playing Christian music on her keyboard and sewing, cooking and growing flowers. She loved being around her family and cooking for them. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday July 27, 2020 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Wes Jones officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Bear Creek Cemetery in Jennings, County. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clairene Ackerman Memorial Fund through the funeral home. Clairene is survived by her daughter, Christy Killmer of Columbus; sons, Thomas Edward Ackerman of Butlerville and Jerry Lee Ackerman of Salt Lick, Kentucky; her fiancé, Paul True of Columbus; a sister, Phyllis Purvis of Columbus and a brother, Ivan Willoughby of Columbus;9 grand children and 3 great grand children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Lee Ackerman, her parents, Albert Ray Willoughby and Viola C. Pendleton and a grandchild.   1. I will always remember the party lite party she had when she lived in North Vernon I think it was. My first time officially meeting her. We all had a great day shopping and laughing with her. From then on every time I saw her she had one of her great hugs for me ❤️ Love you all!
