James Lee Nolan, 46, of Demotte, IN, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Franciscan Health Crown Point. James was born on November 23, 1973 in Hammond, IN to James Dale Nolan and Debra Schane Nolan. He was a journeyman welder and a member of the Boilermakers Union and Faith Missions Assembly of God Church in Demotte where he was part of the music department. He played varsity football in high school and in college. He enjoyed traveling with his college choir and he was a devoted family man. Funeral services will be at 1:30 Monday, August 10, 2020 at Revival Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, 4474 E. 550 N. Clifford, IN 47226 with Pastor Eli Johnson officiating. Calling will be from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be at Flatrock Baptist Cemetery. Survivors include his mother, Debra Nolan of Columbus; sons, Nathan Nolan and Baily Nolan both of Demotte, IN; daughter, Cassidy Nolan of Demotte, IN; brothers, Robert Nolan of S.C., Jeff (Jason) Smith of Noblesville, IN, Timothy Burton of Portage, IN; sisters, Tammy Hartkorn of Wanatah, IN, Tracy (Walter) Conroy of Champaigne, IL, Kimberly (Gary) Smith of Columbus, IN, Danielle (Jimmy) Tankersley of Abilene, TX; a grandmother, Edith Graves of Hammond, IN; 14 nieces and nephews; 10 great nieces and nephews; 6 uncles and 2 Aunts. James was preceded in death by his father, James Dale Nolan; biological father, James Burton; grandparents, Bob Schane, Tony Nolan, Lissie Nolan and Bud Burton. Memorial contributions may be made to Debra Nolan to help with final expenses.

  1. I really enjoyed getting to know Jim during his time at Community Church! He worked super hard to contribute well on the worship team and beyond. We had several good talks together. He will be missed. If there’s anything we as a church can do to help the kids, please call us at 219-345-3388.

  2. Jim was my brother and loved by so many. Although he is walking with Jesus and is in no more pain I will miss him everyday. I also wanted to thank everyone that was able to make it to the funeral and all the prayers for my family.
