  1. Glen has always been a pastor I looked up to and admired. He never treated me with anything other than love respect and I will miss his smile and his compassion. I praise God that a soldier like him has gone home we will certainly miss him here.

    • Glenn was one of a kind. He visited my mother in law every week. Don always came with him and Annie called Don “Spanky” It was the highlight of her week. They also visited my mom every week. Before he got sick he was mowing dad’s yard out of the kindness of his heart. Always smiling and happy! I will never forget him! He was a awesome man!🙏❤️❤️❤️🤗

    • Brother glen and brother gay ison were two men that led me to the Lord. Brother Glen gave me my first preaching appointment at Lowell when I announced my calling to preach . My heart is heavy for sister Betty and the family. Brother glen has work for the lord the majority of his life. And now has gained what he has taught us all for all these years. I will truly miss him as many will . I am grateful that God placed him in my life. I attribute alot that I have learned to him and praise God that I could call him brother. He truly is sheltered in the arms of God.
This is not good by but ill see you soon .

  2. Roger and I will surely miss Glenn. We had a lot of good times together. There’s not enough room on here to write all the events that happened when we were together, but this one time tops it all. We were coming back from Norfolk, Virginia. Glenn was driving, Roger was in front seat with Glenn. They were just laughing and talking, Betty and myself was usual in the back seat.( probably praying) Roger said something that just hit Glenn wrong and he started laughing. Just like preaching,he could not stop laughing. Then Roger along with Betty and myself started laughing. Glenn was laughing so hard he started crying. Now remind you HE WAS DRIVING! All as sudden he just stopped right there in the middle of the interstate! Betty screamed GLENN what are you doing? He said I can’t see!! She said get this car off the road, he was trying, to move over, still laughing. Then he stops again I said Glenn get my side off the road too. This is just one of many stories we could tell but I’ll save the others till later. We didn’t get to take a trip together this year because of Covid, but he is seeing many more beautiful sties than what we ever saw down here. We love and will miss you Glenn.

  3. Betty, Allen and I are so sorry for your loss. We will forever remember that big smile Pastor Poynter displayed. Praying for you and your family during this difficult time. Love, Allen and Linda Ping

    • I loved Bro. Glenn he was such a great preacher and a good friend. We have been in many church services together. I always enjoyed visiting his church and staying in his home during revival and homecomings that I preached for him many years ago. I loved hearing him preach too. He will be truly missed

  5. Tim and I appreciated Bro. Glenn so very much. He was our pastor for several years while we attended Lowell church. We even thought of him as our pastor when we’re attending the church in Spearsville where we live. One memory I have of Bro Glenn and will never forget, is when I had a friend that was in a serious accident. She was at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was not conscious and could not talk. Don’t know for sure she could hear anyone but Bro. Glenn went up there and had prayer with her. He never even meet her. That touched my heart. I so appreciated that. Also, Bro. Glenn was there when my dad passed away. That meant a lot to me. He preached both my mother in law’s and father’s in law’s funerals. Plus, when Tim and I renewed our vows on our 25th wedding anniversary, he married us again. He was a wonderful preacher and a true friend. We will never forget him. We will meet you by the river Bro. Glenn. RIP. ❤️

  6. I love and miss you grandpa💓 one thing that keeps playin over and over is your country accent and the way you say me and my moms name I will never forget your smile 💔 I LOVE YOU!!

  9. My long time friend and brother in the Lord. We worked many years(30 or more) at Golden foundry. Glen was a friend to all. God needed another Angel in Heaven so he took brother Glen. God saw that he was getting tired and a cure was not to be,so he put his arms around him and whispered,”Glen come unto me” with tearful eyes we watched him suffer and slowly fade away, although we loved him dearly we could not make him stay. He had many roles throughout his life,Husband,Father,Pastor and friend. Our hearts are saddened in knowing that such a good life had to end. A golden heart has stopped beating, hard working hands are at rest but our sadness is lifted in knowing he did his very best. Rest In Peace brother Glen, your long time friend, and brother in Christ : BERT MIZE
