John E. Siler Jr., 80, of Columbus, passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at his home. John was born on August 15, 1940 in Waynesburg, Kentucky. He was the son of the late John E. Siler Sr. and Macie S. (Petrey) Siler. He married Lydia (Denney) on January 1, 1960 in Stanford, KY, and she survives. John was employed by Golden Foundry for 40 years, retiring in 2003 as a maintenance technician. He attended Calvary Nazarene Church in Columbus. He was also preceded in death by his brothers: Ulan “Dude” Siler, and James “Jim” Siler; his son, Anthony Siler; and his daughter-in-law, Jody Siler. He is also survived by his children: Pamela Andrew, of Columbus, and Lisa (Cliff) Stults, of Seymour; grandchildren: Miranda Perry, Ashley (York) Pollert, Jessica Bradley, Destinee Storvick, Dylan (Emilee) Andrew, Angel Siler, and Macie Stults; great-grandchildren: Justice Perry, Jackson Lowe, Jagger Perry, Jizelle Perry, Leighton Pollert, Ryder Storvick, Kyle Siler, Sydney Pollert, Dahlia Storvick, Kaven Siler, and Aiden Pollert. John’s passion was his grandkids and great-grandkids. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, shuffleboard, and maintaining a well-kept lawn. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 PM, Wednesday, December 2, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Paul Blair, 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 3, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Garland Brook Cemetery.

    • I will miss seeing John sit on his chair right inside his garage whenever I would drive by or when I left an Avon book. He kept a neat yard and I loved his wild flowers near the highway in the gravel. My heart goes out to your family.

    • John & Lydia were very kind to me back years ago. I will always remember their love & kindness when Pam & I dated back in ’79 & ’80. My prayers are with each of you at this difficult time. I’m sure he’s rejoicing today. I will always love the Silers and hold them dear in my heart.

  2. John was a kind person. Friend to my late husband an co worker. Cheered him up he an Lighty when he no longer was able to get out an go to church. Sure will miss him.
