Rita A. Garrity

Rita Ann (Smith) Garrity, 65, of Columbus, Indiana, passed away December 13, 2020, at Our Hospice. Rita was born March 7, 1955, in Brown County, Indiana, the daughter of Orville Smith and Wanda (Younger) Thornton. She loved Elephants, Turtles and had a pet skunk as a child. She loved her kids and considered many other children as her own. She grew up in, and loved Brown County. She was a Bible reader and did crossword puzzles in her spare time. She joked once when she couldn’t think of the name of the birds that she was feeding and just blurted out calling them sky chickens. Rita was a delightfully, fun loving mom and grandma. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. There will be no services. Survivors include her sons; Loyd Schwab, Joshua (Ginger) Music daughters; Cheroki Isgrigg, Jolinda (Michael) Music, Mary (Jeremy) Schwab, Dakota Isgrigg, grandchildren; Athena Isgrigg, Genevieve Isgrigg, Nikolette Isgrigg, Jalin Asher. She was preceded in death by her parents; son; Jerry Isgrigg on April 14, 2019, grandson; Ashton Isgrigg. Arrangements entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
