Diana Rose Mackey, 73, of Columbus, passed away February 23, 2021 at Brown County Health and Living.
Diana was born November 19, 1947 in Columbus, the daughter of Ledford Homer and Helen Jewel Sisco England. On June 27, 1993 she married Rickey Mackey.
Diana longed to go back to Tennessee, often daydreaming of seeing those hills off in the distance. She loved to garden, and most days could be found sitting on her front porch. Diana loved listening to Southern Gospel Music, and was gifted with the ability to sing and play just about any instrument she touched. What Diana loved the most was her family. She loved them fiercely, often sacrificing her own needs to be certain they never wanted for anything. She was always certain to be the caretaker for all those she loved. Her faith in God carried her through the many trials and tribulations life threw her way.
She is survived by her children Chera Bonta of Columbus and Bobby (Catrina) England of North Vernon; Several grandchildren, and many more great-grandchildren.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Rickey preceded her in death by four days, on February 19, 2021; a daughter Marcell Renae England; a brother Dallas England; as well as a sister Barbara England.
Jewell – Rittman Family Funeral Home would like to thank everyone in advanced for wearing masks and practicing social distancing while attending gatherings.

Simply Elegant Spathiphyllum was purchased for the family of Diana Rose Mackey.
Diana was one of a kind. I loved sitting at her house and just talking to her, or sitting at her mother’s with my mom and we would all sit around and sing together. She had an amazing heart that loved anyone with no judgement. No doubt she is walking on the streets of gold surrounded by her loved ones that met her at the gate to welcome her home. My prayers are with her children and grandchildren.
Diana’s was one of a kind. She was a beautiful woman and a good friend. God needed an angel and he took her. RIP my friend. You will be missed by many.
A precious soul with an all encompassing heart for family, friend and her Lord, Diana was a rare jewel. Fly high my friend and we will all meet again one glorious day and until that time, let that beautiful voice harmonize with the angels.
