Cheryl Lynn Lucas, 48, of North Vernon, passed away at 8:50 p.m. Tuesday March 9, 2021 at I.U. Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born July 26, 1972 in Columbus to the late Robert Wayne and Cathy Dampier. Cheryl was a member of the Risen Savior Bible Church in Butlerville and the Moose Lodge of Columbus. She enjoyed camping, demolition derbies and dirt track racing. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday March 13, 2021 in Jewell ~ Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Haines officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until the service on Saturday. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Thrive Alliance through the funeral home. Cheryl is survived by her husband, Marshall; daughter Tiffany (James) Ogle, of Columbus; sons, Wayne (Nicole) Kimberlin of Scipio and Coby (Hannah) Greenlee, of Columbus; step-mother, Terena Dampier of Franklin; step sons, Rick Welsh and Marshall Clayton Lucas, both of Norman; sisters, Robin (Jeremy) Ogle of Columbus and Emily (Tony) Craig of Seymour; step-sister, Mindy Hall of Columbus; brothers, Mike (Charlotte) McFarland of Hope and Bob (Heather) Young of Maine; step-brother, Tom (Sarah) Ross of Columbus and nine grandchildren, James Ogle, Izabella Kimberlin, Ariaunna Ogle, Braxton Ogle, Clayton Kimberlin, Michael Kimberlin, Roselynn Kimberlin, Penelope Greenlee and Caytlin Welsh.     • Very sorry to read about Cheryl’s passing. She helped with caregiving for my late husband. We loved having her come to our house. Prayer for the family. All of her talk was about her family and she often shared pictures with us.
