Barbara A. Warner, 70, of Columbus, passed away April 12, 2021, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Barbara was born February 22, 1951, in Seymour, the daughter of Harold Ray and Shirley Ann Compton Sweasy. On March 29, 1980, she married Steve Warner.
The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021, at the Jewell - Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Morrow officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Barbara enjoyed volunteering for many church activities. During her free time, she could be found with a set of knitting needles in her hand or creating something in her crafting room. Most of all, Barbara loved her family. She loved spending as much time as possible with them. Barbara always delighted in the many trips to the ocean or Disney World with her grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by her mother Shirley Ann Sweasy; her husband Steve; daughters Lindsay (Brent) Devers and Brittany Stevenson, both of Columbus; a son Travis J. (Michelle) King of North Vernon; grandchildren Kayla, Daila, Jaxon, Jaden, Malcolm, Amara, Brooks, and Blake; a brother Terry (Pam) Sweasy of Columbus; as well as a brother-in-law Kenny Williams of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her father, as well as a sister Ginger Williams.

So many great memories with Barbara Ann growing up. We stayed in touch through the years and always considered ourselves as sisters. She was so special to me and so glad we had our recent visits. Barb will be in my heart forever.
I remember the many times we would get together at Thanksgiving with our family and friends. And the times we would drive up to uncle Buddy and aunt Shirley’s. And her famous Chocolate pie at Christmas. Fond memories. Cousin Richard. God bless her.

Lindsay, I am so sad to hear that your sweet Mother has passed. I know you have beautiful memories of your life with her. When I lost my mother 15 years ago…that’s what got me through the rough times. I miss her still every day, but like you, I was blessed with one of the best. I’m praying for you and your family.

When we were teenagers my Brother Bud and his family lived much closer to Louisville. Barb, Ginger and I spent a lot of time together. So many fun times and fond memories. As we grew older they moved to North Vernon. We didn’t see as much of each other but we shared many memories. I was fortunate enough to speak with her before her passing. Fly high sweet angel…save a place for Aunt Deb…..

Barb and I met serving in the nursery at church together. We bonded right away. She was a sweetheart of person. Praying for the family as you grief her loss. With all hope of seeing her again one day in heaven. ♥️

I met Barb in our life group at church. From then on we were instant friends,she was such a sweet caring gal! We had laughs,a few tears and a lot of love in our group of friends. I will miss you Barb!
