Carolyn Jean Perkinson, 86, of Elizabethtown, passed away May 21, 2021 at Columbus Regional Hospital. Carolyn was born February 16, 1935 in Richmond, Indiana, the daughter of Harold W. Ryan and Mary Fehrman Bishop. She married Robert S. Perkinson on August 8, 1952. Carolyn was previously employed by First Nazarene Church Daycare, and enjoyed horses. She was a very selfless individual. The most important things in this world to Carolyn was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children Michael L. (Regina) Perkinson of Seymour and Debbie C. (Todd) Wright of North Vernon; grandchildren Kelly (Brian) Ritter, David Greshan, Bobby Gresham, Tiffany Wayt, and Samantha (Shawn) Miskell; great-grandchildren Dylan Ryan, whom she raised from birth, Asia, Bridget, and Christian Ritter, Aidan, Sophia, and Deacon Wayt, Payton, Haley, and Keigan Miskell; as well as a brother Robert Bishop of Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert; as well as a sister Sondra Woods. The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday May 25, 2021 at the Jewell - Rittman Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home Tuesday. Inurnment will be at Sandcreek Friends Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Jewell – Rittman Family Funeral Home would like to thank everyone in advance for wearing masks and practicing social distancing while attending gatherings.

  1. To Carolyn’s family I want to tell you that I loved her since we first met in 1974. She was just like a mom to me. Her, Juanita Owens, Donna Jaggers, Pat Martin all became my family at 17 years old. She will always hold a special place in my heart. Prayers for all of you she will be missed. Terri Callam King.
