Mary Annadell Trobaugh, 88, of Columbus, passed away at 6:00 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 2021, at her home. Mary was born in Bartholomew County on October 15, 1932, to William Bailey and Mabel Henderson Bailey. She married Dillard Trobaugh on August 30, 1947. Mary was a member of Calvary Nazarene Church. She was a QMA at Columbus Convalescent Center for 31 years. Mary and Dillard enjoyed woodworking and loved flowers but the most important thing in her life was the Lord and her family. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at Jewell ~ Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Leonard and the Rev. Paul Blair officiating. Calling will be from 4:00 p.m. ~ 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Mary will be laid to rest beside her husband at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Love Chapel Center or Gideons International through the funeral home. Survivors include her sons, Larry (Terri) Trobaugh of Scipio, IN and Bruce (Vernita) Trobaugh of Hartsville, IN; daughters, Donna Buchanan of Westport, IN, Barbara (Max) Tichenor of Greensburg, IN, Jenny (Garvin) Gardner of Westport, IN, Sandra (Randy) Lucas of Columbus, IN and Lisa Hill of Columbus, IN; brothers, Virgil (Jean) Bailey of Cocoa Beach, FL, Roylee (Linda) Bailey of Spencer, IN; son-in-law, Michael Gardner of Westport, IN; 18 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, William Bailey and Mabel Beabout; her husband, Dillard Trobaugh on August 20, 1998; her daughter, JoAnn Gardner; grandson, Brad Tichenor; sister, Margaret Ferguson and sons-in-law, David Buchanan, Rick Hill, and a niece, Joy Bailey Reynolds.

    • Sorry for your loss. I have known Mary almost my whole life. She was my mom’s best friend (Shirley McKinney Knotts). I remember going to Newbern church for vacation bible school. She was the nicest lady. She will be missed.
