Elaine Gail Basham

Elaine Gail Basham, age 69, of Columbus, passed away at 12:15 p.m. Thursday August 12, 2021 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. She was born May 3, 1952 in Louisville, Kentucky. Elaine enjoyed cooking and had worked as a waitress. For Elaine, Christmas was to be celebrated all year long and she was especially fond of angels and fairies. Her most special role was being Mamaw Tucky and doting on her grandchildren and great grandchildren. When not with her family, Elaine could always be found watching the Hallmark channel and NCIS. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday August 20, 2021 at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Derek Carpenter officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Garland Brook Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Elaine is survived by her daughter, Lori Gilley; son, Gregory Fields and her sisters, Linda Heflin and Sharon Tarrence. Mamaw Tucky also leaves behind her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Josh and Justin Gilley, Taylor, Alyssa and Annagail Fields, Gunnar Tays and Wyley, Owen and Ember Gilley. Elaine was preceded in death by her father, Damon Parks; her mother, Nellie C. Lindsey Bratcher; sons, Mikey and Timmy Fields and brothers, Rickey and Doug Parks.
