Buddy J. Irvin

Buddy J. Irvin, 81, of Columbus, passed away at 10:25 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 2021 at his home. Buddy was born in Columbus on May 20, 1940 to Sherman Irvin and Margaret Ward Irvin. He married Lois A. Allman on January 23, 1960. Buddy proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He was employed for approximately 20 years for Stadlers and Mariah Packing Company and worked construction up until he retired in 2002. Buddy enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, watching old westerns and NASCAR. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral home with Rev. Paul Blair officiating. Calling hours will be from 4 p.m. until service time at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Military honors will be conducted by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana. Survivors include his children, Gina (Tim) Turner, Tony (Teresa) Irvin, Curtis (Christi) Irvin and Kevin (Brenda) Irvin all of Columbus, IN; a sister, Melba (Paul) Bennett of Columbus, IN; grandchildren, Kelly Wilson, Corey Turner, Josh Irvin, Lauren Irvin, Blake Polk, Kelsey Schrelick and 10 great grandchildren. Buddy was preceded in death by his father, Sherman Irvin; mother, Margaret Hundley and his wife, Lois A. Irvin on July 13, 2020.
