Douglas M. Lee

Douglas M. Lee, 78, of Columbus passed away Friday, January 14, 2022 at Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana. He was born January 27, 1943 in Wise County, Virginia a son of the late Leonard Hill and Ruth Lee. Douglas was a U. S. Army veteran. He retired from Cummins in 2009. Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Jane Lee of Columbus; daughter, Sheila (Victor) Chacon of Cincinnati, OH; son, Tony Lee of Columbus; grandsons, Brandon Kyle Thompson; Joshua Shawn Douglas Thompson; Chad Jarrett Thompson; and Alex Parker Thompson, all of Columbus; great-grandson, Felix Julian Thompson and sisters, Phyllis Belcher of CA; Faye Brock Mullins of VA and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Gerry Bannick. Visitation is from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, January 17, 2022 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home 3855 25th Street Columbus. Funeral service is 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery.
