Tilford Ray Hoover

Tilford Ray Hoover, 80, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 2:05 p.m. at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. He was born February 7, 1942 in Columbia, Kentucky to the late Tannie and Mary Hoover. He was a member of the Elizabethtown United Methodist Church and retired from Golden Foundry with over 40 years of service. Tilford never met a stranger, and collected and traded antiques, jewelry, and coins. He setup at flea markets and enjoyed garage sales. Tilford adored his wife, Rita, and loved his family very much. The funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at the Jewell – Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Lonny Goen and Rev. Bob Lay officiating. Visitation will be Monday, February 28, 2022 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral service Tuesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Tilford is survived by his wife, Rita, whom he married July 24, 1982; his children Pamela (Bill Bailey) Olson, Peggy Hoover, Dale Moore, and Debbie (Terry) Blaney, all of Columbus; sisters, Paula Grant, Sandy (Tilford) Loy and Beverly England, all of Fairplay, Kentucky; grandchildren, Tasha Hoover, Morgan Olson, Peyton Olson, Kyra Stiers and Derek Moore and several great-grandchildren. Tilford was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Donna Hargrave; brothers, Larry and O’Dell Tabor and a sister, Tressie Bledsoe.
