Sara Jane Navarro, 70, of Columbus, passed away at 12:20 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2022, at Our Hospice Inpatient Facility. Sara was born January 22, 1952, in Princeton, IN to Robert Jack Hurst and Virginia Clair Reed Hurst. She married Albert Navarro 20 years ago. Throughout her life, Sara was a hardworking, helpful, and giving person. She retired from Golden Foundry in Columbus after many years there, and in her free time, she was always staying active. She loved tending to her food gardens, planting flowers, and cooking for her family, especially her grandson Ian, with whom she shared an incomparable bond. She was a devout Christian who loved attending church and praising the Lord. Amongst the many things Sara did throughout her life, she was also a musical person. She played piano since she was young and later went on to play the trombone in her high school band. Sara's funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor David Comer officiating. Calling will be from 4 p.m. until service time on Thursday. Private inurnment will be held at Garland Brook Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana. Survivors include her husband, Albert Navarro; daughter, Jacinda Lee (Clark) Musgrave of Columbus, IN; sons, Jack Westen Hunt of Princeton, IN and William Jason Kolb of Scipio, IN; grandson, Ian Michael Ryan Musgrave. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Jack Hurst; mother, Virginia Clair Land; twin grandsons, Jadon Michael Musgrave and Jacob Ryan Musgrave.

  1. I am so sorry for your loss. Sara was one of my true friends for many years. She will be missed by me very much. We talked on the phone a lot. I loved her very much.

  2. My sincere heartfelt sympathy to the family . Sarah and I were friends when I’m our youth and then high school and after. We had reconnected a few years ago on Facebook and enjoyed some conversations . So sorry for your loss.
