Beverly Louise (Batty Sarten) Falk
November 24, 1953 ~ June 27, 2022
Beverly Louise Falk, 68, of Seymour, entered eternal life Monday June 27, 2022, in Indianapolis. She was born November 24, 1953, in Logansport, Indiana to her loving parents William Eugene and Betty Jo Smyser Batty. She married Steven Eugene Falk on December 27, 2013.
Bev enjoyed reading and loved going to the beach. She had a strong faith in Jesus Christ and could often be found reading the Scriptures. She was an avid sports fan who faithfully followed (“her team”) the University of Kentucky Wildcats. She was a USPTA Certified Tennis Professional and spent over 30 years teaching and mentoring students, many of whom became life-long friends. She also coached tennis and volleyball at the junior collegiate level in Arizona.
Above all else, Bev treasured spending time with her family. Growing up, she and her siblings were very close, relationships that continued to grow through time and produced countless hours of laughter and love. Watching her own children play tennis, baseball, football, golf, soccer and participate in the high school and college (Go Big Blue!) marching bands brought her endless joy. She loved watching them play football, basketball, and softball. Going to a Friday night football game meant she could watch the marching band as well. She loved having them around her and just snuggling with the younger ones.
Bev is survived by her husband, Steve; her children Andrea (Kirk) Fauber of Columbus, IN; Jared (Leslie) Sarten of Eagle River, Alaska; Katie (Brandon) Lykins of Columbus, IN; Russell (Katie) Sarten of Chandler, AZ, grandchildren, Max, Carleigh, Gabby, and Kenzie Fauber; Zoie and Finley Sarten; Leo, Kami, Kaysee, Boyd, and Kaylie Lykins; her sisters, Barb Stanger of Glendale, AZ and Beth (Leo) Kafer of Red Wing, MN; her sister-in-law Robin Batty of Sun City, AZ, and her brother-in-law Matt (Jill) Burgoyne of Chino Valley, AZ. Bev was also the adoring mom to Laverne and Shirley, her two Labrador Retrievers that were never shy about returning her love.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Matthew Sarten and his three children, Alexis, EJ, and Gabriel Sarten; a daughter, Betsy Sarten; her brother, Brian Batty; and her sister Bonita Burgoyne.
The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (4850 W. Goeller Rd.) with Bishop Tracy Lykins officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until service time Saturday. Burial will be at New Harmony Cemetery in Bartholomew County.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Bev in Phoenix, Fall/Winter of 2022.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Jewell – Rittman Family Funeral Home. This is to give the Falk family time to decide how best to apply the donations where they feel it will help the most
