Carol J. Marino, 66, of Columbus, passed away Sunday August 14, 2022 at Brown County Health and Living Center in Nashville. She was born June 6, 1956 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina to the late Ernest Lorenzo Bridgers and Mary Elizabeth Davis Bridgers. She married Thomas Raymond “Tom” Marino on December 23, 1974 and he preceded her in death on January 28, 2020.
Carol was an active member of the Columbus Community Church. She enjoyed being a grandma and was very active in her grandchildren’s activities. In her earlier years she enjoyed playing softball.
A memorial service honoring her life will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions in memory of Carol may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana through the funeral home.
Carol is survived by her sons, Matt (Erin) Marino, Nate Marino and Nicholas (Heike) Marino; daughter in love, Chelsie Harden; sisters, Kathy (Tom) Harrell, Joan (Wayne) Holcolm and Beth Bridgers; grandchildren, Kai Marino, Dominic Marino, Izzy England, Greyson Marino, Florence Marino, Jaxon Marino and Enzo Marino. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; her parents and a sister Paula Will. Carol and I were friends since elementary school and I always remember her smiling face and her eagerness when we did things. She has been such a brave warrior through this and never complained once. She is truly our angel now. Peace Carol love you.
I have known Carol from Junior High to grand kids…always so sweet and funny. I loved seeing the pictures of her children and grandchildren. She was so proud of them. She will be missed. My prayers are with her family. 🙏
