Clifford G. Stephens

Clifford G. Stephens, 81, of Columbus, died Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Columbus Regional Hospital. Clifford was born in Nederland, TX on January 15, 1941 to Clifford E. Stephens and Jewell Hayslett Stephens. He married Joanne Farris on February 14, 1981. Clifford graduated from Nederland High School and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 9 years. He was a journeyman welder and loved woodworking and crocheting. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Military honors will be conducted by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard. Calling will be from 9 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Joanne Stephens; sons, Clifford E. (Sheri) Stephens of Mayfield, KY, Melvin Stephens of Columbus, IN, Phillip Stephens of Columbus, IN, Lloyd (Katelin) Breaux of Columbus, IN; daughters, Tammie (Raymond) Gollihare of Texas, Dorothy (Gerald) Lasseigne of Texas, Janie Walling of Columbus, IN, Jayanne (William) Martin of Texas; a sister, Beverly Stephens of Texas; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford E. and Jewell Stephens, and a daughter, Bonnie Theriot.
