Ernie S. Thompson, 46, of Columbus, died at 2:25 p.m., December 17, 2022.
Ernie was born January 17, 1976 in Amarillo, TX, the son of Mary Jane and Jerry Lee Thompson. He married Jessica Perry on October 7, 2022.
Ernie was a very hard worker. He enjoyed working on cars and always had a project that the was working on around the house. Ernie loved being outside, you could always find him mowing and taking care of the yard. He was a great family man. He dearly loved his dog, Piggy. Ernie will be greatly missed.
In keeping with his wishes, no services are planned.
Memorials may be made to the Brown County Humane Society.
Survivors include his parents; son, James Lee Thompson of Columbus; daughters, Samanthia Jean Thompson of Columbus and brothers, Bob Wilson of Bloomington and Grover Wilson of Columbus; sisters, Alicia (Chuck) Baker of Seymour and Dawn (Scott) Combs of Franklin and Kimberly Thompson of Seymour; two granddaughters, Skyla Thompson of Columbus and a granddaughter arriving in May of 2023.
Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.

I was shocked that God called you home. But I soon realized how borrowed we all our. God allows us to be borrowed an he has made it very clear throughout the Bible that every hair on us is numbered an he takes us back home on his time not ours. I didn’t know Ernie, but I’ve known Jerry sense the 7th grade at Newbern. My thoughts & prayers go out to the entire Thompson family.
