Kathy Price Moore

July 2, 1957 ~ January 1, 2023

Kathy (Price) Moore, of Clinton and recently of Columbus, Indiana passed away Sunday January 1, 2023 at her daughter’s home. She was born July 2, 1957 in Salem, Illinois, the daughter of Alberta (Montgomery) Price and Willard Price. Kathy had a huge heart and helped many friends and family out when she had little to spare. If she loved you, you were blessed, and she protected you fiercely. When her kids were little and her current situation was less than ideal, she loaded whatever kids would fit in her vehicle and left home with very little money to drive the seven plus hours back here to safety. She said about that trip that “truck drivers will protect a woman and children traveling alone”. She loved to be outside mowing grass, planting a garden or building a small pond. She cleaned everything in sight and you better not play on her bed that she made every day (ask the kids)! She loved her strong coffee in the morning and was usually up by 4:30. She could make amazing buttermilk biscuits baked in a cast iron skillet. Her Thanksgiving noodles were looked forward to and Easter was her favorite holiday. She loved watching the kids hunt Easter eggs and she made a bunny cake covered with coconut. Kat loved music, especially southern and classic rock. She couldn’t carry a tune but that didn’t stop her from singing. Kathy is survived by her daughter, Becca Mead; a son Lucas Moore; grandchildren, Richard “Bubba” Eldridge and his wife Jenn of Woodruff, S.C, Faith Cantwell, of Clinton, Sam Minor, Liam and Desmond Richards, all of Columbus; great grandchildren, Chase, Shane and Kaitlyanna Smith of Woodruff, S.C.; siblings, Danny (Kathy) Price of Coloma, Indiana, Karen Fisk and her companion Wayne Phillips of Clinton, Randy Price of Clinton, Kevin Price and his companion Glenda Griffin Howell of Clinton and Kimberly (Jeff) VanLannen of Shepardsville, Indiana. Her loved ones here on earth also include son-in-law Shane (Keri) Cantwell, sister-in-law, Joy Holland, cousin, Cindy Walters; special friend Sarah Joy of Terre Haute and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jacqueline Cantwell; grandson, Korben Moore and daughter-in-law, Star Mead. Kat was more than the cancer that she fought so long and hard, that made her body so frail. She was our sister, friend, confident and protector and would sit in the “balcony” with Karen and Kimberly drinking wine coolers and watching the kids play or riding around the country at night telling the kids ghost stories and laughing hysterically when Becca’s scream nearly killed a horse. We know that she is out of pain and watching over us along with Mom, Dad, Jacki, Mary, Korben, Star and many others. Kathy’s wishes were to be cremated and for all of us to gather to celebrate her life. What better time to do this but Easter Sunday, April 9, 20223. We will be creating a Facebook event to let everyone know the details. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation of your time or a monetary donation to the charity or group of your choice, Kathy’s honor. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home 3855 25th Street Columbus, Indiana. You are invited to send a condolence message to the Moore family via the funeral home website: www.jewellrittman.com
