William Patrick Harden

William “Pat” Harden, 78, of Columbus, died at 7:47 a.m. on January 13, 2023, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. William was born July 27, 1944, in Columbus, the son of William Lee and Margaret (Ferry) Harden. After graduating from North Highschool, he joined the National Guard. He married Carolyne (Wilson) Harden on August 17th, they had 3 daughters, then also raised 2 grandchildren Shannon Satterfield, the son they never had, and Trystan Harden. Pat was an avid hunter. He enjoyed fishing and playing ball with his co-workers. He belonged to the Eagles Lodge. One of his greatest joys was the morning newspaper, which he would enjoy with a diet coke, bacon, and eggs. Pat was a wonderfully loving and giving man. He had a close bond with his sister Sharon and Pat also had an adoring relationship with his caretaker Neah Martin. Survivors include daughter, Michelle Harden of Columbus; brothers, John (Una) Harden of Sierra Vista, Arizona; Shannon Harden of Trafalgar; sisters, Sharon (Jesse) Dial of Seymour; Sheila (Dickie) Littrel of Columbus; grandchildren, Shannon Satterfield, Trystan Harden, Erica Roberts and Larry David Roberts; great-grandchildren, Grace Satterfield, Gemma Myers, Evan Satterfield, and William Satterfield; and beloved cats, Sammi and Sweet Pea He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters Dorothy (Eric) Roberts, Patricia Harden; brothers Michael (Olivia) Harden and Tami Harden; sisters, Cecelia Harden and Kathy Harden. In honoring William’s wishes cremation was chosen. Arrangements entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
